Showing the love of Christ in a community that is rapidly growing and changing is the challenge facing the congregation of Knox Presbyterian Church. As we attempt to live faithfully the witness of our LORD we use this BLOG as our communication tool to reach out and share the good news of what is going on in the life and mission of our church.

Sep9WedSeptember 9, 2015Iona has been called a "thin place," where heaven and earth are very close. This comment, meant perhaps for the Abbey of Iona and its community, can aptly be applied to all aspects of the small basalt piece of rock that boldly resists the gales of the North Atlantic off the West Coast of Scotland!

Jun11ThuJune 11, 2015When an attempt to recycle and care for the precious ecosystems we live in by collecting electronic waste turns bad, there's only one thing a Christian Community can do... Learn from the experience and prayerfully apply the lessons to "living in the world but not in the way of the world." Our prayer is that we once again might become an example to our neighbourhood of Christ among us.

Jan28WedJanuary 28, 2015The Gospel of John boldly places two stories side by side that don't seem to belong! A wonderful wedding feast in Cana and a terrible confrontation in the Temple in Jerusalem. 1 Peter 5:7 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
7 Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.
We know deep in our heart that God cares for us. What we desire in Christian community is an expression of this wonderful love in the way the church Christ's body exhibits our faith. At Knox, Milton we are attempting to respond to this need with a new enabling ministry which empowers our people to show the love of Christ to one another.
There is a wonderful contemporary music chorus entitled, "The Cares Chorus."
I cast all my cares upon you
I lay all of my burdens down at your feet
And anytime I don't know what to do...
I just cast all my cares upon you!
